Aeroflot flies 31% more passengers in 5 mths

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Aeroflot carried 4.5 million passengers in January-May, up 31% from the same period of last year, Russia's biggest airline said in a statement.

Passenger turnover grew 36% year-on-year to 12.459 billion passenger-km.

The seat occupancy ratio rose 12 percentage points to 74%, and the commercial load factor was up 11.7 pp to 61.3%.

Passenger numbers were up 31% year-on-year in May to 914,000 passengers. Passenger numbers grew 34% on international flights and 27% on domestic flights.

Aeroflot flew 8.755 million passengers in 2009 - 5.6% fewer than in 2008. The airline has a fleet of 11 Boeing-767, 64
