Vasily Titov heads up Norilsk Nickel board

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - Vasily Titov, MMC Norilsk Nickel's first deputy managing board chairman, will head up the company's board of directors, an Interfax correspondent at the meeting reported.

Interros proposed Titov.

Titov told journalists said the results of the board election were unexpected even for its members' themselves. "The situation came out like that," he said.

When asked if the election's results for the board contradict an agreement between RusAl and Interros, Titov said; "As far as I know, the procedure went through in strict accordance with the agreement".

Commenting on Alexander Voloshin's departure from the board, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, Norilsk's general director, said: "Voloshin has recently been engaged in more extensive projects and his main effort have been focused on a more serious state level".
