China's crude oil imports grow 34.08 pct year-on-year in June

Shanghai. July 12. INTERFAX-CHINA - China imported a record 22.27 million tons of crude oil this June, up 34.08 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on July 10.

According to the statistics, China imported 117.97 million tons of crude oil in the first half of this year, up 30.2 percent year-on-year.

Yu Chunmei, an oil industry analyst with Shenyin Wanguo Securities, told Interfax that the sharp spike in crude oil imports can be attributed to an increase in the country's overall refining capacity in June.

In the same month, China's fuel imports reached 3.31 million tons, while it exported 2.15 million tons of fuel products.

Additionally, coal exports reached 1.27 million tons, up by 11.40 percent year-on-year, according to the GAC.
