Russia ups ferrous roll output 22.8% in 6 mths - Rosstat
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russia boosted ferrous metal roll production 22.8% year-on-year in January-June, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
June production rose 12.8% year-on-year to 5.3 million tonnes but was 9.1% lower than in May 2010.
Pig iron production rose 23.2% year-on-year in the six months and was up 5.6% year-on-year in June to 3.8 million tonnes, but down 7.9% from May 2010.
Steel pipe production grew 43.1% year-on-year in the six months and 27.3% year-on-year in June to 748,000 tonnes, and was up 7.6% in June compared with May 2010.
Iron ore concentrate production grew 18% year-on-year in the six months and 6.4% year-on-year in June, and was up 0.4% in June compared with May 2010.
