The9 to bring Sony's Free Realms game to China

Shanghai. July 26. INTERFAX-CHINA - Nasdaq-listed The9 Ltd., a Chinese games operator and developer, has obtained exclusive rights to operate Sony Online Entertainment's (SOE) Free Realms game in China, The9 announced on July 26.

Free Realms, a 3D massively multiplayer online adventure game, currently has 12 million registered players, according to the announcement.

SOE launched Free Realms in April 2009 in US and Europe.

The9 also operates Soul of The Ultimate Nation, Granado Espada and EA SPORTS FIFA Online 2 in China. The company's domestically developed games include World of Fighter and Winning Goal.
