Smog delays several flights at Vnukovo, Domodedovo airports
MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports are operating with delays due to smog conditions, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, told Interfax on Friday morning.
"Visibility at Domodedovo Airport is 350 meters, visibility at Vnukovo Airport dropped to 300 meters," advisor to the Rosaviatsia's chief Sergei Izvolsky said.
Fourteen departures and 29 arrivals have been delayed due to low visibility at Domodedovo, he also added. Six aircraft were diverted to a spare airfield at Sheremetyevo.
At Vnukovo Airport, seven departures and 14 arrivals were delayed. "Of the 14 incoming flights six were diverted to the spare airfield at Sheremetyevo, three to Nizhny Novgorod, two to St. Petersburg and three to Voronezh, Kazan and Kharkiv," Izvolsky said.
Sheremetyevo Airport is working as usual.
