Baskin Robbins sales up 20% in H1
MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Baskin Robbins increased ice cream sales in Russia 20% to 315 million rubles in the first half, the company reported.
The company opened 12 cafes as franchises and several of its own in Moscow airports. By the beginning of July, Baskin Robbins had 145 outlets in 68 cities in Russian and other Commonwealth of Independent States countries, most of them franchises.
Baskin Robbins' first joint venture in Russia, Baskin Robbins Soviet International, was registered in 1990. In 1996, the company opened a major ice cream plant in Moscow, the biggest in Europe, able to churn out 16,500 tonnes annually. The company only sells 'premium' ice cream.
CJSC Baskin Robbins Production International did 585.8 million rubles worth of business in 2009.
