Dollar and euro up in MICEX trading on Mon

MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted steady gains on the MICEX on Monday as the euro dropped on the international forex. The Russian ruble posted losses for the third day in the against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket.

The dollar went up by 13 kopecks in MICEX trading to close at 29.92 rubles/$1 while the euro went up by 10.68 kopecks to finish at 39.6443 rubles/EUR1.

The bi-currency basket (set at $0.55 and 0.45 euro) went up by 12 kopecks to 34.29 rubles.

The dollar's average weighted exchange rate on the MICEX decreased by 0.02 kopecks to 29.8306 rubles/$1 in Today deals on Monday and increased by 2.53 kopecks to 29.861 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Total dollar trading on the MICEX amounted to $3.827 billion with $746.6 million in Today deals and $3.08 billion in Tomorrow deals.

The average weighted rate of the euro went up by 25.87 kopecks to 39.6104 rubles/EUR1 rubles in Today deals and 27.97 kopecks to 39.6356 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Total euro trading came to 144.6 million euro, of which 67 million euro were Today deals and 177.6 million euro were Tomorrow deals.

The overnight MosPrime Rate decreased by three basis points to 2.73%.
