NOVO-OGARYOVO. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The impact of nuclear energy facilities on the natural environment is below permissible levels in Russia and continues to decrease, the head of the state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom said.

"Rosatom paid special attention to emissions in connection with abnormally high temperatures in some regions in Russia," Sergei Kiriyenko said.

"Emissions are below the permissible levels and stands at not more than 10% of the allowable amount, while the nuclear power plants' environmental impact has been reduced by almost half, compared to last year," Kiriyenko said.
