Russian agro-enterprises lower grain sales by 3.9% in 7 mths
MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Russia's agricultural enterprises reduced grain sales by 3.9% year-on-year to 17.6 million tonnes of grains in January-July 2010, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Tuesday.
At the same time, grain sales went up by 42.9% year-on-year to 3.8 million tonnes in July.
Rosstat also said that animal product sales went up in the seven months. For instance, cattle and poultry sales (in living weight) went up by 4.9% year-on-year to 3.5 million tonnes, milk - up 1.2% to 8.1 million tonnes and eggs - by 4.8% to 16.2 billion units.
Total cattle and poultry sales went up in July to 9.1% to 500,000 tonnes, egg - 3.4% to 2.3 billion units and milk sales - down 3.1% to 1.3 million tonnes.
