Bashneft boosts Q2 net profit 27% to $376 mln

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Bashneft , the lead company in the Bashkortostan fuel complex, which is controlled by AFK Sistema , posted a net profit of $376 million in the second quarter under IFRS, 27% higher than in the first quarter, the company said in its financial statement.

Analysts at investment companies and banks told Interfax that the oil company would post a net profit of $344 million in the second quarter.

Net profit in the first half totaled $671 million compared with the analyst forecast of $640 million.

Revenue rose to $3.328 billion in the second quarter, 14% more than in the first, and amounted to $6.24 billion in the entire first half. The market had expected revenue of $3.285 billion in the second quarter and $6.197 billion in the first half.

OIBDA rose 13.5% to $696 billion in the second quarter and totaled $1.308 billion in the first half, compared with the consensus forecast of $698 million and $1.311 billion respectively.
