Oil-production in Tyumen region up 80% in Jan-Aug

TYUMEN. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Oil-extraction in the Tyumen region, not counting the Khanty-Mansiisk and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Districts, came to 3.25 million tonnes in the period January-August, which was 80% more year-on-year, the regional resource-usage and ecology department told Interfax.

The bulk of that - 2.452 million tonnes - was produced at the Urenskoye and Ust-Tegusskoye deposits under TNK-BP's Uvat project.

The region is projected to yield 4.18 million tonnes of oil this year, which would be 43% more than in 2009. TNK-BP will put $500 million into the Uvat project's development this year.

The project involves thirteen licensed sections, with C1 resources of 83 million tonnes, C2 - 175 million tonnes, and C3 - 370 million tonnes.
