EU concerned about Russian meat-import restrictions
MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russia and the European Union will have expert-level negotiations next week over the regulations involved in how frozen meat from Europe gets onto the Russian market, Health and Social Development Minister Tatiana Golikova said.
"The corresponding talks will be held next week," Golikova told reporters on Monday. The minister had met with John Dally, EU commissar for healthcare and consumer protection, during a break during a conference of the World Health Organization regional organization in Moscow. Dally expressed concern over the frozen-meat situation, she said.
"They think the technical regulations substantially restrict the import of frozen meat from European Union countries onto the territory of the Russian Federation," Golikova said.
