KazTransOil increases oil transportation by 4% in Jan-August

ALMATY. Sept 20. Interfax-Kazakhstan - JSC KazTransOil pumped 34.728 million tonnes of oil through its own network of pipelines in January-August 2010, a year-on-year increase of 4%, the Kazakh oil pipeline operator told Interfax.

Oil transportation turnover rose 3% year-on-year to 22.723 billion tonne-km.

In the eight months, the volume of oil transported through the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline reached 6.704 million tonnes, up 40% from the same period a year earlier.

The TON-2 oil pipeline transported 3.614 million tonnes of Russian oil, up 9% year-on-year.

The company also increased oil transportation to the domestic refineries by 26% to 8.521 million tonnes in January-August 2010.
