Russian share prices edge up as markets stabilize
MOSCOW. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Russian share prices are posting modest gains as the global markets stabilize.
The MICEX stock index was up 0.33% to 1435.87 and the RTS was up 0.07% to 1478.02 by 10.31 a.m.
Benchmark stocks rose by up to 0.5% on average, although Lukoil continued to outperform, up 0.9%, on speculation that it will at least partially exercise an option to buy back outstanding shares from ConocoPhillips by the September 26 deadline. Tatneft was up 1.1% in early trading.
