Ukrainian steel majors boost output in 9 mths

KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Most of Ukraine's biggest steel mills boosted finished roll production in January-September.
ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (formerly Kryvorizhstal), the country's biggest steel mill, said it raised finished roll production tentatively 23.3% year-on-year to 3.973 million tonnes.
Azovstal increased roll output 31.8% year-on-year to 3.844 million tonnes, and the Ilich works from Mariupol raised it 24.1% to 2.778 million tonnes.
Zaporizhstal edged roll output up 2.3% to 2.092 million tonnes, the Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works, a member of the Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD) group, cut roll output 19.5% year-on-year to 2.06 million tonnes, and IUD's Dzerzhinsky Metallurgical Combine (DMK) cut it 23.9% to 1.882 million tonnes.

Ukraine's steel industry boosted finished roll output 10% year-on-year in January-September to 21.544 million tonnes, the Dnipropetrovsk-based Metallurgprom association has said.
Crude steel production jumped 11% to 24.105 million tonnes and pig iron grew 8% to 20.293 million tonnes.
