Russian govt intends to balance budget by 2015
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - The Russian government reckons to be back to balanced budgets by 2015, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at the Russia Calling! investment forum organized by VTB Capital.
The draft federal budget for 2011 includes a deficit of 3.6% of GDP, and the government is looking to cut that to under 3% the following year, Putin said. "And we'll return to a balanced budget by 2015. I think we will keep to this schedule," he said.
