Dollar and euro continue to slide on MICEX in first minutes of trading

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro dropped on the MICEX at opening on Thursday while the Russian ruble edged up against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55).

Tomorrow trades for the dollar on the MICEX came to 29.67-29.73 rubles/$1, down 16-22 kopecks below the close for Wednesday and the official rate. The dollar is continuing to post its lowest rates in over two months.

The euro opened at around 41.35 rubles/EUR1, down five kopecks.

The bi-currency basket went down by 13 kopecks to 34.94 rubles.
