Stocks open higher on MICEX; index up 0.5% in first minute

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russian stocks gained at the open of trading on MICEX on higher oil prices and gains on stock exchanges abroad.

The MICEX index was up 0.48% to 1,471.71 points as of 10:31 a.m. and the RTS index was up 0.85% to 1,580.11 points.

Advancers on MICEX included VTB - up 0.4%, Gazprom - up 0.4%, Gazprom Neft - up 0.4%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - down 0.6%, Lukoil - up 0.4%, Polyus Gold - up 0.1%, Rosneft - up 0.7%, Rostelecom - up 1%, Sberbank Russia - up 0.6%, Surgutneftegas - up 0.5% and Tatneft - up 0.1%.
