Russian seaports boost cargo turnover 6.7% in Q1-Q3
MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Cargo turnover at Russian seaports increased 6.7% year-on-year in January-September to 393.32 million tonnes, the Russian Association of Commercial Seaports said.
Liquid cargo increased 5.7% to 235 million tonnes and dry cargo was up 8.1% to 158.26 million tonnes. The port shipped 156.56 million tonnes of crude oil (3.6% more year-on-year) and 77.3 million tonnes of product (10.8% more).
Coal turnover rose 3.6% to 51.02 million tonnes, mineral fertilizer was up 30.3% to 9.51 million tonnes, forest products - up 12.4% to 5.14 million tonnes and sugar - up 30.4% to 1.8 million tonnes.
Scrap metal shipment was unchanged at 1.99 million tonnes.
Container cargo turnover rose 32.3% to 23.97 million tonnes.
Export shipments increased 6.2% to 304.34 million tonnes and imports rose 38.3% to 27.42 million tonnes. Transit remained at the last year's level, 33.66 million tonnes, and coastal cargo turnover shrank 3.2% to 21 million tonnes.
