CNPC puts Qinghai natural gas station into operation

Shanghai. October 27. INTERFAX-CHINA - China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the country's largest oil company, put a natural gas station into operation in Yushu County, Qinghai Province on Oct. 26, the company announced on the same day.

According to the announcement, the RMB 168 million ($25.15 million) station will supply 20 million cubic meters of natural gas per year and will help over 30,000 Yushu County residents reduce their coal and crop-waste-as-fuel consumption.

The station will also provide clean fuel to 1,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles, according to CNPC.

At 3,778 meters above sea level, the project is China's highest-altitude natural gas station, CNPC said.
