Russian stocks open lower on MICEX; index down 0.2% in first minute

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Russian stocks edged lower at the open of trading on the MICEX exchange on Friday on negative external factors.

The MICEX index was down 0.23% to 1,503.13 points as of 10:31 a.m. and the RTS index was down 0.46% to 1,576.22 points.

VTB declined 0.2% on MICEX, Gazprom was down 0.2% to 166.8 rubles, Gazprom Neft - down 0.1%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - down 0.4%, Polyus Gold - down 0.6%, Rosneft - down 0.4%, Sberbank Russia - down 0.3% and Tatneft - down 0.3%.

Among advancers, Lukoil rose 0.4%, Rostelecom gained 1.2% and Surgutneftegas edged up 0.2%.
