Ferrexpo ups iron ore pellet output 15.7% in 10 mths

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Ferrexpo plc, whose main asset is Ukrainian iron ore producer Poltava Mining, boosted iron ore pellet output 15.7% year-on-year in January-October to 8.336 million tonnes, the company told Interfax.

Ferrexpo produced 7.502 million tonnes of pellets from internal feedstock, 5.4% more year-on-year, including 4.123 million tonnes of pellets with Fe-content of 62%, up 14.5% year-on-year and 3.379 million tonnes of Fe-65%, down 3.9%.

Crude iron ore production rose 2.8% to 24.099 million tonnes, and iron ore concentrate production grew 7.4% to 9.344 million tonnes.

Ferrexpo exports most of its pellets to Austria, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, other European countries and China.

The London-listed Ferrexpo plc is sole shareholder in Ferrexpo AG. Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Zhevaho owns 51% of Ferrexpo plc and RPG Industries SE (RPGI), the majority owner of coal producer New World Resources N.V. (NWR), owns 25%.
