Russian stock market moves up on Weds
MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market posted moderate gains on Tuesday thanks to overall optimism that the U.S. Federal Reserve will decide on the second round of QE2 measures (more quantitative easing).
Benchmark shares on the MICEX went up by 0.23% to 1,537.27 points while the RTS Index increased by 0.24% to 1,604.14 points.
Advancers for the day on the MICEX Stock Exchange were Gazprom , up 0.2%, Gazprom Neft - 1.1%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 0.5%, Lukoil - 0.5%, Polyus Gold - 0.7%, Rostelecom - 0.02%, Sberbank - 0.5% and Tatneft - 0.1%.
Decliners for the day were Rosneft , down 0.2% and Surgutneftegas - 0.03%.
Posting gains among second tier stocks on the MICEX were Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), up 1.7%, TGK-1 - 1.4%, Seventh Continent - 1.2%, IDGC North Caucasus - 1.2% and Mechel - 1.1%.
Posting losses were Raspadskaya , down 2.4%, TGK-14 - 2.3%, Magnit - 2.2%
Total Classic RTS Trading for the day came to $4.51 million, RTS Standard - $369.36 million and MICEX Stock Exchange deals - over 28.7 billion rubles.
