Angang's automotive plate facility in Yingkou to start production in 2013

Shanghai. November 3. INTERFAX-CHINA - Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Angang) announced Nov. 3 it is accelerating the construction of its cold-rolled automotive plate production line in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, with production now scheduled to begin in June 2013.

According to the announcement, the project is designed to produce steel plates for use in the automotive and home appliance industries and will alleviate the shortage of such products on the domestic market.

No further details were disclosed in the announcement.

Angang's market share has declined steadily since the 1990s but showed some growth in recent years and now stands at around 25 percent. Its automotive plates include both hot and cold-rolled, and galvanized.
