U.S. dragging out settlement of final WTO accession issue - Shuvalov
GORKI. Nov 15 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev has instructed First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov to urge the United States to move quicker to settle the final issue of Russia's prospective membership of the World Trade Organization.
Shuvalov told Medvedev on Monday that, as ordered, all talks with the United States had been completed on schedule by September 30, except one issue, whose settlement is being delayed through the fault of the United States.
"We made our proposals on the importation of equipment with cryptographic elements. The American side has yet to hold consultations on this issue with its businesses and the proposal has so far yet to receive a response," Shuvalov said.
"Hurry them up,' Medvedev said. "We presume all issues have been practically closed," he said.
