Number of EurAsEC innovative projects to grow - Putin

ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Progress has been made in implementing an initiative to establish a high technologies center within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.

"We have made good progress in putting this in-demand initiative into practice. Since the start of the year, we have approved six innovative projects that are now being assessed by the Eurasian Development Bank and national venture capital funds," Putin said at a session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council in St. Petersburg on Friday.

The Russian PM said he was convinced that the number of such projects would increase.

The center will expand its operations and will involve EurAsEC member states' leading scientific research organizations, he said.
