Ukraine posts $5.9 bln balance of payments surplus in 10M

KYIV. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Ukraine had a balance of payments surplus of $5.863 billion in January-October 2010, compared with a deficit of $12.864 billion in the same period of last year, the National Bank said on its website.

The country had a current account deficit of $1.809 billion, up 130% year-on-year; and a financial account surplus of $7.672 billion, compared with a deficit of $12.082 billion a year previously.

The balance of payments deficit narrowed 16.4% year-on-year in October 2010. Ukraine had a surplus of $1.241 billion in September 2010.
