Chalco signs coal contract with Xinjiang Guanghui
Shanghai. November 29. INTERFAX-CHINA - The Aluminum Corporation of China Co. Ltd. (Chalco) has signed a long-term coal offtake contract with Xinjiang Guanghui Industry Co. Ltd., a private energy developer based in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Guanghui announced Nov. 27.
Xinjiang Guanghui will supply between 50,000 and 100,000 tons of thermal coal to Chalco in both November and December of this year, the announcement said. Throughout the period of 2011 to 2013, the company will supply Chalco with 1.5 million to 2 million tons of coal each year.
The price for thermal coal with a net calorific value of 5,300 Kcal per kilogram has been set at RMB 410 ($61.47) per ton, including transport costs, according to the announcement. The price will remain in effect until Dec. 31, 2013.
