IES in talks with TNK-BP on sale of gas distributor GAZEKS
MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Viktor Vekselberg's IES Holding is negotiating sale of GAZEKS, the largest private gas distribution company in Russia, along with other gas distribution organizations, to TNK-BP , sources told Interfax.
Itera , Mezhregiongaz and NOVATEK are also candidates to buy the assets, but so far have not been able to agree the price, they said.
The TNK-BP board of directors could examine the deal at a meeting in mid-December, one of the sources told Interfax.
IES Holding confirmed that talks on sale of Vekselberg's gas distribution assets is underway. "We are currently in talks with TNK-BP on sale of gas distribution assets," a company spokesman said. He declined to discuss details of the talks while the deal is still pending.
Officials at the Federal Antimonopoly Service, which would have to clear the deal, did not deny receipt of the corresponding filing.
TNK-BP, Mezhregiongaz and Itera declined to comment.
