Azerbaijan reduces exports of petroleum products by 7% in 11 mths

BAKU. Dec 2 (Interfax) - State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 1.718 million tonnes of petroleum products to world markets in January-November 2010, down 7.3% year-on-year, the company told Interfax.

For instance, SOCAR exported 1.437 million tonnes of diesel fuel, 174,741 tonnes of car gasoline, 104,658 tonnes of aviation fuel and 944 tonnes of heating fuel.

SOCAR exported 118,171 tonnes of petroleum products in November, including 92,417 tonnes of diesel fuel, 6,209 tonnes of aviation fuel, 19,366 tonnes of car gasoline and 179 tonnes of heating fuel.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries, both owned by SOCAR: Azerneftyag and Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery in Baku. They have combined capacity to refine 22 million tonnes of oil a year.
