Russia will earmark 25Bln rubles on upgrading airports in 2011 - Putin

KHABAROVSK. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Russia will assign up to 25 billion rubles on upgrading airports next year, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a conference of United Russia party in Khabarovsk.

He said that one third of the sum is meant for the Far East. Among the new airports he named a state-of-the-art international terminal in Vladivostok, airports in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, Magadan, Anadyr and Yakutsk and also airports on the Kuril islands of Iturup and Kunashir.

"These are Russian lands and we will be advancing them," Putin said.
