Goldwind signs $714 mln wind turbine sales contracts

Shanghai. December 7. INTERFAX-CHINA - Xinjiang Goldwind Science and Technology Co. Ltd., one of China's largest wind turbine makers, signed a batch of wind turbine supply contracts valued at RMB 4.77 billion ($714.07 million), the company announced Dec. 7.

According to the announcement, the company will supply turbines with a combined installed capacity of 1,100.5 megawatts (MW) to eight wind farms in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province and Hami City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

Founded in 2001, Goldwind has production bases in Beijing, Urumqi, Baotou, Jiuquan, Xi'an and one in Germany.

In 2009, the company produced 1,391 units of 1.5 MW wind turbines and 782 units of 750 kW turbines.

Goldwind, dual listed on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen stock exchanges, is partially owned by the state.
