Belarusian GDP up 7.2%, prices rise 8.9% in 11 mths
MINSK. Dec 10 (Interfax) - Belarusian GDP rose an estimated 7.2% year-on-year in January-November to 146.6 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.
Industrial production grew 10.6% year-on-year in January-November to 145.2 trillion Br, agricultural output rose 2% to 29.3 trillion Br and fixed capital expenditure rose 13.3% to 46.2 trillion Br (3,011 Br/$1 on Dec. 10).
Retail turnover grew 17.1%.
GDP growth slowed to 0.2% in 2009, from 10.2% in 2008. This year's target, approved by the Belarusian president, is 11%-13% growth.
Belstat said inflation slowed to 0.9% in November from 1.1% in October and 1.6% in September. Inflation for the 11 months was 8.9%, compared with 8.7% in January-November 2009.
The government is forecasting consumer prices will grow 8%-10% this year. Inflation was 10.1% in 2009.
