Azerbaijan continues to ramp up gold production

BAKU. Dec 15 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan, which launched commercial gold production in the second half of 2009, when it mined 333 kg of the metal, ramped production up to 1.7 tonnes in January-November this year, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

The country also produces its first tonne of silver in November.
