Share prices slip, MICEX index down 0.3% as Mon trading begins

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The MICEX Stock Exchange began Monday with blue-chip share prices slipping modestly amid Asian-market and U.S. stock-future slippage, and the MICEX index was down 0.25% at 1662.65 points by 10:31 a.m. Moscow time.

The RTS index was at 1742.62 points (down 0.07%) by that time, and prices for many benchmark shares had dipped up to 0.5%.

VTB was down 0.3% on the MICEX, Gazprom had also lost 0.3%, Gazprom Neft 0.1%, Lukoil 0.3%, Rosneft 0.5%, Rostelecom 0.1%, Sberbank of Russia 0.2%, Surgutneftegas 0.5%, and Tatneft 0.3%.

Norilsk Nickel , however, was up 0.1%, Polyus Gold had gained 0.5%, and Polymetal 0.2% amid rising copper and gold prices worldwide.
