Majority convicted of corruption in 2010 are law enforcers - Medvedev

MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Two-thirds of people convicted in 2010 for giving and taking bribes were law enforcement officers, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said.

"This year, approximately 1,000 people have been jailed by September for taking bribes, and 1,700 for giving bribes, about 2,000 of them are law enforcement officers: police, prosecution, even 18 people from the judiciary," Medvedev said in an interview with three federal television channels.
