Belarus guarantees transit of 4 mln tonnes of oil on Odesa-Brody

KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax) - Belarus plans to ship 4 million tonnes of oil through Ukraine on the Odesa-Brody pipeline in 2011, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

"Next year we guarantee that we will pump 4 million tonnes on the pipeline," he said.

Belarus is ready to have the pipeline begin shipping oil in the northerly direction, as originally designed, effective January 1, 2011.

The oil transportation tariff hasn't been approved yet, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andrei Klyuev said. They are expected to be drawn up on December 28.

Ukraine will be able to ship more than 4 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2011, he said.
