Russian scrap metal imports soar 2.4-fold in 2010 - Econ Ministry
MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Russian ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal imports grew 140% in 2010 to 10,660 tonnes, the Russian Economic Development Ministry said on its website.
Scrap exports grew 50% to 5.518 million tonnes.
Most of the imported scrap came from Kazakhstan (4,800 tonnes). Most of the exported scrap went to Turkey (1.859 million tonnes), Belarus (1.479 million tonnes) and South Korea (774,200 tonnes).
