Dollar slightly lower, euro gains in first minute of trading on MICEX
MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The dollar declined slightly in the first minute of trading on the MICEX exchange on Monday, while the euro was higher.
The first trade in dollars was transacted at 30.05 rubles/$1, but subsequent trades were near 29.9 rubles/$1, which is 3-4 kopecks below the close on Friday and roughly 10 kopecks below the official exchange rate.
The euro was at 40.6 rubles/EUR1, 2 kopecks above the previous close and the official exchange rate.
The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and 0.45 euro) opened at 34.8 rubles but immediately fell to 34.71-34.72 rubles, 1-2 kopecks lower.
