Aeroflot flies 29% more people in 2010
MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Russian flagship airlines Aeroflot - Russian Airlines flew 11.285 million passengers last year, 28.9% more than the year before.
Passenger turnover was up 33.8% at 33.777 billion passenger-kilometers for the year.
The company's seat occupancy for 2010 increased to 77.2%, up 7.7 percentage points from 2009. Aeroflot's commercial load factor came to 63.2%, up 7.3 percentage points from 2009.
Total passengers transported in December 2010 went up by 16.7% to 864,100 passengers. Aeroflot's passenger throughput went up by 20.7% last year to 2.685 billion passenger kilometers.
Total passengers transported on international routes went up by 19% to 544,400 passengers. Passengers transported on domestic routes increased by 12.9% to 319,700 people.
Aeroflot is Russia's leading airline. The state owns 51.17%.
