Kazakhstan ups aluminum, cuts zinc, copper production in 4 mths
ALMATY. May 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan increased primary aluminum production 3.1% year-on-year in January-April to 621,134 tonnes, the State Statistics Agency said.
Unprocessed zinc production fell 0.2% to 104,645 tonnes, and refined copper production fell 1.1% to 109,835 tonnes year-on-year.
Bauxite production grew 2.3% year-on-year to 1.78 million tonnes, copper ore grew 9% to 10.6 million tonnes, copper-zinc ore production fell 13.4% to 1.49 million tonnes, lead-zinc ore grew 18.4% to 2.399 million tonnes, copper in concentrate fell 13% to 109,100 tonnes, lead in concentrate rose 39.2% to 13,500 tonnes and zinc in concentrate fell 1% to 118,900 tonnes.
