Average Urals oil price jumps 44.3% to $109.17/barrel in January-July

MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The average price for Russia's Urals brand oil increased 44.3% year-on-year to $109.17 per barrel in the period January-July, Finance Ministry expert Alexander Sakovich told Interfax.

The Finance Ministry and Economic Development Ministry conducted the price monitoring.

The average price was $75.67 per barrel in January-July 2010, Sakovich said.

The average oil price in July was $115.29 per barrel, 55.4% more year-on-year ($74.17 in July 2010).

"The figure for the seven months of this year was somewhat higher than the figure for the record 2008, when in January-July the average price for oil was $109.1 per barrel," Sakovich said.

The average price was $108.12 per barrel at the end of the first half of 2011, $78.21 per barrel in 2010.
