Public approves third phase of NOVATEK's Purovsky gas condensate plant
SALEKHARD. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Representatives of the public have approved the construction of the third phase of gas major NOVATEK's Purovsky gas condensate plant, member of the management board of the Yamal Descendants Association's regional division Nikolai Ayvesedo told Interfax.
"Participants in the public hearings unanimously approved the expansion of the operating facility, since it will not inflict harm on the environment and will not affect the interests of indigenous peoples of the north, since they do not live near the plant," Ayvesedo said.
Construction of the plant's third phase is planned to wrap up in 2013, he said.
The first start-up complex of the third phase will be commissioned in Q4 2013, and the second start-up complex - in 2014. The plant will produce a cumulative 11 million tonnes of gas condensate, instead of the current 5 million tonnes.
The Purovsky gas condensate plant is NOVATEK's main production asset in hydrocarbon material processing. It is located in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District near the East-Tarkosalinskoye field.
