CORRECTED: Summa Group appoints founder of TPG Capital Russia office as president

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Summa Group has promoted Alexander Vinokurov from first vice president to president of the group, the Summa website reports.

Former president, Marat Shaydaev, is staying on at the company and will be focusing on developing the groups port logistics business.

Vinokurov graduated from Cambridge University with a Master's degree in Economics.

He began his career as a senior investment banking specialist at Morgan Stanley in London, where he participated in M&A projects, restructuring and raising capital from leading international and Russian companies.

Vinokurov went on to found the Russian office of direct investment fund TPG Capital (managing $80 billion), where he was vice president and associate. He led a task force to develop the investment and development strategy for TPG Eurasia in the CIS and Eastern Europe.

He became first vice president of the Summa Group in August 2011.

Vinokurov is also currently senior advisor at TPG Capital in Russia and the CIS and is on the board of LLC Lenta.

Summa Group is a diversified private holding with significant investments in port logistics, engineering, construction, telecommunications and the oil and gas sectors. Ziyavudin Magomedov is the founder and shareholder of the Group. Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, in which Summa is a shareholder, is Europe's third largest port operator for cargo turnover.
