Former Rusnano chief, former MTS president may join Svyazinvest board - paper

MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The Russian government has compiled a list of candidates for the board of major telecommunications holding company OJSC Svyazinvest.

The list includes former general director of Rusnano, current head of Composite Holding Company Leonid Melamed, Managing Partner of Euroatlantic Investments Ltd and former Mobile Telesystems (MTS) president Vasily Sidorov and Russian-German Energy Agency (RUDEA) CEO Thomas Heldel.

They may replace Deputy Communications Minister AleXander Zharov and Deputy Financial Director of Vimetco Pavel Machitski. Kommersant newspaper wrote on Wednesday that the government had not accepted their candidacies for re-election.

The presidential administration submitted its Svyazinvest board candidate proposals to Government Chief of Staff Anton Vaino, the paper reported citing government sources. The paper said the administration put forward the following for re-election: VEB Capital General Director Yuri Kudimov, Renaissance Capital President Alexander Pertsovsky, Professor of Russian State University for the Humanities Ivan Rodionov, Trading Finance Co-Manager Alexander Trubetskoy and independent director VTB 24 Chairman Mikhail Zadornov.

The board also includes Svyazinvest General Director Vadim Semenov and Rostelecom President Alexander Provotorov. Their candidacies were put forward by Svyazinvest minority shareholder - Rostelecom.

The government owns 75% minus one share of Svyazinvest and Rostelecom owns the rest.
