Pop singer Eduard Khil known as Mr. Trololo in West dies in St. Petersburg

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Russian pop star Eduard Khil has died at the Polenov Institute of Neurosurgery in St. Petersburg, the website of the medical institution says.

"Eduard Khil died on June 4, 2012, at the age of 77 as a result of a long and grave sickness," a Monday report of the resuscitation department of the institute says.

On April 8, the signer was hospitalized with a brainstem hemorrhage at Mariinskaya Hospital and remained there until May 28. Since the very start, the vital centers of the brain were affected which resulted in irregularities in the functioning of the entire body. On May 28, the singer was transferred to the Polenov Institute.
