Oil output in Siberian Federal District to reach 66 mln tonnes by 2020 - Energy Min

MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - Oil production in the Siberian Federal District might increase from 41 million tonnes in 2012 to 66.3 million tonnes in 2020, Energy Ministry said in a statement about the results of a meeting with the heads of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on the energy complex's development.

"According to the Fuel and Energy Dispatch Center's (TsDU TEK) forecasts, production of crude in the Siberian Federal District will reach 41 million tonnes in 2012 (up 15.9% from 2011) and, as long as new fields are commissioned, it might reach 66.3 million tonnes by 2020," the statement said.

The ministry said that the Siberian Federal District has such major oil and gas fields as Vankor, Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye, Verkhnechonsk, Chonskoye, Kovykta, and Angaro-Lenskoye. The bulk of oil production in the district, around 43%, is from the development of fields in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Oil production in the territory came to 15.18 million tonnes in 2011 and 7.06 million tonnes for January-May 2012.

The ministry also said that the Achinsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is now being modernized with capacity at 7 million tonnes. The modernization process includes the construction of a delayed coking unit, as well as hydrocracking and reforming unit. In addition, the second section of an isomerization unit will be developed. The hydrocracking unit will be commissioned in 2014 (design capacity at 2 million tonnes a year) along with the diesel hydrotreater (1.6 million tonnes a year). A catalytic reformer will be commissioned in 2016-2020 (capacity at 1 million tonnes a year).
