Price stumbling block in talks on Russian gas shipments to China - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - The price issue disrupted gas agreement during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China in June, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said in an interview with Interfax.

"No agreement was reached on Russian natural gas shipments to China. The reason for that is remaining disagreements on the price, connected with rigorous state regulation of prices for energy resources in China," he said.

"However, talks between companies are continuing and various options for potentially mutually beneficial cooperation are being discussed, including joint ventures, alongside liquefied gas deliveries via pipelines. What matters most is that there is a mutual desire to come to terms, which means an agreement will be reached sooner or later," Morgulov said.
