Rosoboronexport exports nearly $11 bln worth of armaments, hardware in 2011

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Rosoboronexport sold approximately $11 billion worth of armaments and hardware to 57 countries in 2011, says the annual report posted on the company website.

"Rosoboronexport exported Russian military products to 57 countries in 2011. In all, the company cooperates with more than 70 foreign states," the report said.

Rosoboronexport is a leader in the exports of Russian armaments and military hardware in the sphere of military-technical cooperation with foreign states, the report said.

"Rosoboronexport deliveries topped $10.718 billion in 2011, or 81% of the Russian total military exports," it said.

The portfolio of orders reduced slightly in the reporting period due to the aftereffects of the global financial and economic crisis and political tensions in Africa and the Middle East. "As of January 1, 2012, the Rosoboronexport's portfolio of orders stood at $34.6 billion," the report said.
